Volunteer Internship Opportunities for the finite planet:

If you feel that economics and sustainability unnecessarily clash, let’s talk!

                                  Please distribute this flier.

Objective: Make the best use of the intern’s aptitudes to activate Campaign for Sustainable Economics.

Projects under consideration are:

-         employment and education of youths that is pertinent to ecological economics,

          perhaps some environmental restoration,

-         creation of an ecovillage to engage people in sustainability,

-         communications in promotion of sustainability,

-         experiences to enhance appreciation for ecosystem services,

-         alliance building, and

-         integration of ecological economics into curriculums.

Possible roles:  Intern’s roles will be negotiated with the director. Options for tasks include artwork, fundraising, research, writing, creation of curriculum, teaching, economic analysis, creation or editing of a website, event planning, networking, marketing, building and urban design, construction, and making videos. Integration with studies is possible. Hours are negotiable.

Some desirable qualities:  sees the big picture, is resourceful and creative, and works collaboratively and independently.

CaSE’s mission is to facilitate a tipping point to ecological economics.

From the perspective of ecological economics economic growth exceeds the Earth’s carrying capacity. This excess means that the developed world must improve without growth, at a scale that allows the Earth to sustain future generations into the indefinite future. With this balance humanity would be integrated with the Earth, instead of working against our support system.
